Types of survey
Some of the more typical surveys are described below. However, I am always willing to customise any type of survey to suit your requirements.
A detailed report is provided for each survey, together with a summary highlighting problem areas and making recommendations.
Pre-Purchase Condition and Insurance/Finance Valuation Surveys
This is a comprehensive form of survey that is recommended when buying a new or used vessel - a list of items typically examined during a Pre-Purchase Survey is shown below: -

Hull External Inspection :
A visual inspection, soundings and moisture content readings from different parts of the external hull are undertaken in order to identify defects in its condition. The external condition of the following items is also inspected:
Ballast keel Keel to hull joint Gunwhale assembly
Rudder(s) Rudder bearings Steering & propulsion
Propeller(s) Shaftline Cathodic protection
Hull and Deck External Inspection :
Similar to the Hull External Inspection, but extended to an examination of the external condition of the decks and superstructure.
